Before you begin, ensure you have the required tools readily available. These include a Phillips #1 screwdriver, tweezers, and a prying tool. Properly equipping yourself with these tools will make your task much easier and more efficient.
To ensure the PS4 is completely powered off, make sure it’s not in rest mode. Disconnect all cables and peripherals. This will ensure a complete shutdown.
Using tweezers, gently peel off the warranty sticker and another black sticker to expose two screws beneath. Utilize a Phillips #1 screwdriver to take out both screws carefully.
To remove the hard drive from the PS4, slide the glossy panel on the front of the system, then pull the metal lever and gently pull it towards the side, allowing you to easily remove the hard drive.
To access the internals of the PS4, first, flip it over. Locate and unscrew the three screws on the back. With a prying tool, delicately detach the bottom cover, allowing access to the internal components.
To remove the power supply, unscrew the five screws (two on the left, one in the middle, and two on the right). Disconnect the two power connector cables and gently lift the power supply out of its place.
After disconnecting the antenna wire, remove four screws fastening the optical drive to the system. Disconnect the two cables connecting the drive to the motherboard and you can safely take out the optical drive.
After removing the optical drive, detach any remaining screws from the motherboard, then carefully lift it out of the casing.
After completing the necessary tasks, reverse the steps to reassemble your PS4, ensuring all components are securely in place before resuming its use.
