Keeping your workspace tidy is important for your PS4 and its components. Find a clutter-free table and use a clean cloth to safely place your PS4 and its smaller parts, ensuring they stay in top condition.
To remove the Hard Drive, first, unscrew the cover screw at the back of the system. Slide off the Hard Drive bay cover and unscrew the Phillips screw securing the Hard Drive to the bay. Finally, simply pull out the Hard Drive.
To access the inner components, first, carefully remove the black warranty stickers. Next, utilize a T9 Torx screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws, allowing easier disassembly and maintenance of the device.
To remove the lower case of the PS4, carefully lift it from the backside near the ethernet port. Then, proceed to gently push on the edges of the console to release the remaining clips. Finally, lift off the bottom cover to access the internals.
After unscrewing the 5 screws, locate the two power supply connectors on the right side. To disconnect the first connector, pull it straight up. Be cautious while removing the second connector, ensuring a careful and gradual pull.
To disassemble the device, start by unscrewing the Torx screws and Phillips head screws located on the metal mid-frame. These screws, numbering around 5 for Torx and a few more for Phillips head, need to be removed before proceeding further.
After the screws are removed, lift the metal frame out of the PS4, but beware of a potential connection with a short cable on the midframe.
After removing the three screws, use a Phillips screwdriver to detach the optical drive. Ensure caution as it is still connected by two wide ribbon cables, which must be carefully disconnected to remove it completely.
In order to remove the antennas, gently pull them straight up. Next, unscrew the 4 Torx screws that are securing the motherboard. Finally, lift up the motherboard with caution.
