To switch teams in Pokemon Go, you need a “Team Medallion” purchased from the Pokecoin Shop. Use it wisely, as you can only change teams once a year.
To access the Main Menu in Pokemon Go, tap the Poke Ball icon on the map view. Once there, simply tap “Shop” and you’ll be directed to the Pokecoin shop to explore and make in-app purchases.
Once in the shop, navigate through the options till you locate the Team Medallion. It will have a price tag of 1,000 Pokecoins. Simply tap on it and proceed to confirm your purchase to acquire it.
After making the purchase, return to the Main Menu by tapping the Poke Ball Icon. Next, select “Items” and scroll down the list to locate the Team Medallion.
To change teams in Pokémon Go, tap on the Team Medallion and select “YES.” Keep in mind that this option can only be used once every year.
After being introduced to Team Instinct (Yellow), Team Mystic (Blue), and Team Valor (Red) by Professor Willow on the same screen as when you initially chose a team, you can choose your new team by simply tapping on the preferred one.
Once you have made your team selection, the game will prompt you to verify your decision since team changes are restricted for a whole year. Simply tap “yes” to confirm and finalize your team change.
