Once you have gathered enough wood or stone material, use an axe to harvest wood from trees and a pickaxe to mine stone. These materials will be used to produce stairs.
In order to transform the acquired wood or stone into usable materials, access your inventory by pressing the “E” key. From there, simply place the wood or stone into one of the crafting slots to obtain either wooden planks or smooth stone, depending on the resource used.
Once you have the required materials, simply open the crafting menu by right-clicking on the crafting table. If you don’t have a crafting table, just fill four slots of your 2×2 crafting grid with wooden planks to create one.
To craft stairs, arrange wooden planks or smooth stone in a 3×3 grid. Leave the top right slot empty, place one in the top middle and left, two in the middle and middle-left, and three in the bottom. This forms a stair-like shape.
Once the stairs appear in the result box of the crafting table, simply drag them into your inventory, making them readily available for use in building and accessing different levels or areas in your virtual world.
To place stairs in your Minecraft world, open your inventory, find the stairs, select them, then right-click on the desired placement location.
