To compress a PowerPoint document, open the file by double-clicking on it and choosing the PowerPoint application.
Before compressing PowerPoint, save a backup copy with the original quality intact. Go to ‘File’, ‘Save As’, choose location, rename as ‘original/backup’, and save.
Once you have chosen the picture, select it by clicking on it in your PowerPoint presentation. Then, go to the ‘Picture Tools Format’ tab and click on ‘Compress Pictures’. Make sure to have a picture selected before proceeding.
In the ‘Compress Pictures’ dialog box, you can customize compression settings. Tick ‘Apply Only to This Picture’ to compress the selected image, or untick to compress all slide images. Reduce file size by selecting a lower PPI value under ‘Resolution’.
Choose compression settings, click ‘OK’, PowerPoint compresses images accordingly. Save compressed file by going to ‘File’, ‘Save As’, naming file and hitting ‘save’.
