To apply a vignette effect to your image using Adobe Photoshop, simply launch the application, open your desired image, and access the vignette tool within the editing options.
To create a new layer in your image, simply navigate to the ‘Layer’ option in the Menu bar, and proceed by selecting ‘New’ > ‘Layer…’ for easy and efficient multitasking.
From the Photoshop toolbox, located on the left side of the workspace, choose the ‘Paint Bucket Tool’ to quickly fill an area with a chosen color or pattern.
To complete the process, ensure the foreground color is set to black and employ the paint bucket tool to meticulously fill the newly formed layer with the black color, ensuring consistent and even coverage.
After your layer is painted black, go back to the ‘Layer’ menu and select ‘Layer Mask’ then ‘Reveal All’. This will reveal the entire layer with a black mask applied to it.
To create a gradual fade effect, choose the ‘Gradient Tool’ from the Photoshop toolbox and set the gradient from black to transparent.
To create a gradient effect in your image, simply drag the gradient tool from the center towards a corner. Customize the starting point and direction for optimal prominence and desired darkening level at the corners.
If the vignette effect is too intense, adjust the opacity of the vignette layer in the ‘Layers’ palette to achieve the desired darkness level.
Once you’re satisfied with the vignette, deselect and save the image by selecting ‘Ctrl + D’, then go to ‘File’ -> ‘Save’. Choose the format, location, and click ‘Save’.
